I am getting ready to go to Madrid Spain for the first time. Caught your interview in Expats Blog. Reply Thanks for stopping by! Let me know if you have any questions about Madrid too! :-) Reply Hi Alexis! I read your interview in Expats Blog. My husband and I are in the middle of the application process for the Auxiliares de Conversacion program, and we will probably stay in Spain, since I have both Spanish and American citizenship. My main concerne is my husband’s fear to not have a circle of American friends, he knows we’re staying, and as much excited as he is about this adventure, he’s still concerned about not being able to fill his “American void”. Are there any groups or gatherings that you could recommend to us? Huge thanks! Reply Hi there, it really depends on where you go. If you are in Madrid, you will have NO problem filling the “American void”. Most people I knew there complained that there were too many Americans and that it wasn’t an authentic Spanish Experience. If you’re in a rural area, you might well be the only English speakers/ Americans there so it really depends. What region did you request? Reply Leave a Reply Cancel reply Enter your comment here...
